SYNOPSIS
One hit of the pioneers of modern ethnology, Bronislaw Malinowski (1884-1942), across the stories of the actual inhabitants of the island of Kiriwina, in New Papua Guinea, the first territory where the scientist developed in a significant manner “the journalistic report”. The history of Malinowski evolves in the light of contradictions, which is established on the one hand between science and the personal promise of tropics, and on the other hand the despair, which comes from island isolation. In a world of indigenes, mad traders and ventures, missionary clerics and curious "ethno-tourists", the film grabs with little stories the big history of the happiness’ dream of the South sees.
