Choreographic fiction

SYNOPSIS

BLUSH is a fiction produced and choreographed by WIM VANDEKEYBUS. A dazzling trip wobbling between the heavenly Corsican decors and shallows of Brussels, inspired by the eponymous show of the company ULTIMA VEZ and carried by the music of DAVID EUGENE EDWARDS (16 Horsepower, Woven Hand). BLUSH is an exploration of the wild unconscious, mythical forests, and contradictory impulsions. Imagination, where the body has its reasons which reason ignores. Attractions, confrontations, repulsions, stories weave where fear and wishes appear in animal transformations. There is also the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, a man goes in the place we never kissed to come back with his bride.

“Tumultuous beauty of this unclassifiable object, Dionysian sound mixing of all arts or almost.” Télérama
“A dream between cinema and Dance”, le Monde
«Blush is symptomatic of a wish to open up registers, to return them their essence, as deep as common: that to tell a history. Not out of necessity by way of a classical narration, but by making share and react the spectator facing what he sees. Everything is not more a matter than in form and in look. (…) A lesson of cinema! » Rendez vous – Alex Masson
