DAVID DUSA grew up in Sweden in 1979 and South Africa and he obtained a master degree in film studies in Göteborg and Paris. Then he was assistant to documentary filmmaker Peter Friedman. MACHINE (5'), Dusa’s first short was selected at IFFR in 2006 and Berlinale Talent Campus. Dusa’s second short AMIN (9') won the PRIX UIP at the IFF Rotterdam 2007 and was nominated for Best European Short by the European Film Academy, aired in many international television and awarded in several festivals, In September 2008 Dusa finished his third short film, DISTANCES (29'), an evocative film on the ordeals of refugees trying to reach Europe. Premiered in Clermont Ferrand IFF and Göteborg IFF. In January 2009 he delivers another astonishing short piece : CACHEUX (11’) the moment of séparation of two friends, poetical and physical, with the support of LE FRESNOY, Studio National d’arts contemporains and LA FERME DU BUISSON, Scène Nationale de Marne La Vallée. He also edited Andrew Kötting new feature, IVUL. Dusa is now preparing the shooting of FRANCE, his first feature film. The script was developed at the Binger Filmlab (Amsterdam), Script & Pitch Workshop (Turino) and by A.C.E. FRANCE was selected for CINEMART 2008 at the IFF Rotterdam and receive a grant from MEDIA DEVELOPMENT. David also develops a TV-series for French television.
